Good road miles, some hay bales, and a dead coyote.

Fun times yesterday on the road with Henry and a couple other DG Chicks -- Michelle and Carthy! I had planned 2.5 hours of riding but ... Michelle suggested a ride to Bragg and back. It never occurred to me to check the mileage on that. I spent considerably longer in the saddle. It was an even longer outing because we stopped to play in the hay field and take some fun photos. Lots of fun. Everyone's just so freakin' happy it's above zero, dry, and sunny. You couldn't say the same for Saturday.

Don't mind the dead coyote in one of the shots. We didn't realize for a while that the whitish lump in the field wasn't snow. Poor guy...

Happy to be getting some good miles into the legs. Vacation time in Arizona ... and the Whiskey 25 ... are comin' fast! Yay!

Thanks to Henry for some of the photos!

It's been a while ...

There hasn't been much adventure to report so far this year. To date my 2014 has been a series of stops and starts with the biking. My years of chronic low-grade back pain episodes got less low-grade, more specific, and sustained. But, as Coach Martha says, I have a small army of pros working on helping me ... a coach, doctors, physio, massage, radiology ... the beat goes on.

I've been out on the fat bike here and there and only set myself back with a slip or a shift of weight so for now, I'm sticking to pavement or the trainer, which is generally pain-free. Standing, walking, and sitting are another story but hey, priorities, right?

I'm still hopeful to be able to race the Whiskey later this month in Arizona and, with luck, the seven-day BC Bike Race at the end of June.

Right ... I'm off to ride my bike and enjoy the double digit sunny weather!

Here's a collection of random shots to catch you up!
